My Story

How I Got Here As An Executive Coach
The Early Ambition
Big Dreams, Sharp Turns

I moved to the UK at 16, full of ambition and curiosity. I studied economics at LSE as a launchpad to investment banking and the fulfilment of the vision of becoming a business magnate, like the late MKO Abiola. Still, corporate finance didn't feel like the world I wanted to lnhabit. After a few false starts and interview rejections (where I was told I was “overqualified”), I landed in executive recruitment. In the end, what was meant to be a one-year stopgap, quickly turned into a 21-year career. I was good at it, and I enjoyed it far more than I expected.

Learning What Really Matters
From Headhunting to Human Insight

Over two decades, I built a career helping companies hire leaders who aligned with their goals — and helping people find roles that stretched and fulfilled them. I developed a reputation for being direct, thoughtful, and thorough. I was deeply committed to helping my clients find people whose skills and motivations best suited their goals and to helping people find roles that challenged and fulfilled them in organisations whose values aligned with theirs. In fact, even then, I was told I should become a coach. At the time, I wasn’t convinced. I thought my role was to guide from behind the scenes, not step forward. But the seed had been planted.

Everything Changed
The Wake-Up Call That Sparked My Work as an Executive Coach

In 2016, a mental health crisis pulled me out of work. Illness changed everything. It forced me to stop, and with the help of a brilliant therapist, I began rebuilding. What I had always given others, clarity, challenge, and confidence, became the exact tools I needed myself. More importantly, that wake-up call didn’t just restore my health. It reshaped how I saw my purpose. I realised the support I had naturally given others for years wasn’t just helpful, it was valuable. That’s when the path to becoming an executive coach truly began.

Coaching with Purpose
Turning Experience into Impact

Now, my work as an executive coach brings together everything I’ve learned, from headhunting and leadership advisory to lived experience and personal transformation. With honesty, empathy, and a willingness to say what others won’t, I help clients navigate change, challenge assumptions, and unlock ambition. My coaching is rooted in sharp thinking, a deep belief in human potential, and curiosity about how people lead — as individuals and in groups. Ultimately, this isn’t just what I do. It’s who I am. Coaching is where ambition meets clarity, and experience turns into impact.

From Headhunting to Human Insight

I spent two decades as a headhunter, learning how to get to the heart of people’s motivations and strengths and marrying these to my clients’ operational objectives and work culture. I built a reputation for being direct, thoughtful and thorough. I was deeply committed to helping my clients find people whose skills and motivations best suited their goals and to helping people find roles that challenged and fulfilled them in organisations whose values aligned with theirs. Even back then, people told me I should be a coach. I wasn’t convinced.

The turning point came in 2016 when illness forced me out of work. The mental health crisis that followed changed everything. With the help of a brilliant therapist, I rebuilt not just my health, but my sense of self. I realised that what I had always given others, clarity, challenge, and confidence, wasn’t just helpful. It was valuable.
